With a subtle cucumber flavour this wonderful culinary herb can be used as an ingredient in sauces, salads, dressings and summer drinks.
Can also be used to flavour vinegar, butter and cream cheese. It is recommended to use the youngest leaves as they tend to become more bitter as they age.
The unusual crimson flowers are considered ornamental and can be utilised in bouquets and floral arrangements or leave on the plant to provide a good source of nectar and pollen for bees, butterflies and beneficial insects. Also good for birds who will happily snacks on the seed heads.
